Hello sir, I repressent a group of hovercraft builders/pilots 'the hovercraft cruising club' (THCC ) just do a search and you'll find us. But we have a problem, and I was wondering if maybe you could help. Our American members can not find insurance for their home built hovercraft, and they have tried all sorts. From what I believe you had a similar problem when you set up your own airline company and got round it by starting your own insurance business. Now these fellow members are not crazy people,as some try to classify these very skilled free thinkers, as you above all people should know, judging from some of the show stopping stunts you have pulled out of the hat. They just want liability insurance for their hobby. They would and do build to US Coast Guard specifications and would obtain certification if that's what it takes. Now I don't know if you will ever read this, but if you do one of our founder members a Phil Stockman a founder member of the THCC who lives in Florida would be more than willing to give you a demo run if you were game for it.Hey you might enjoy it his email is:- suninfo@suncoastcomp.com and if you could help, we would all be a bunch of happy crazy's. My email if you do reply is geoff@burrows733.fsnet.co.uk We don't want a hand out just help, or even better insurance cover from your insurance company. Thank you for your time and patience Regards Geoff Burrows

Dear Mr Branson, I know that this may come as a surprise but I have not found any other way of contacting you personally. I know you are a person who is interested in new and orriginal ideas and would be like to hear the most fantastic proposal this century. It is simply the solution to the future of this world. I find it very hard to put this in so few words but I am about to undertake a venture that will make the industrial revolution look like a corner shop. In one simple move it is possible to transform the future and ensure the safty and preservation of our planet and achieve harmony between mankind and nature. I know this sounds too good to be true but it would be worth just one hour of your or one of your representatives time just to listen. It would also put you and your organisation in a unique position in the next few years. I will make this approach to you just once. Thank you and regards The Magus

Thanks to CUPE for the written statement of todays events

Urgent bulletin – Canada 3000 files application to close down Royal Aviation

Late on Sunday, November 4th, Canada 3000 filed an emergency application with the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB), asking the Board to allow Canada 3000 to close down operations at the former Royal Aviation. Specifically, the company has asked that Royal not be found to have common employer status with Canada 3000. The company is seeking permission to completely sever the operation of Royal from the operation of Canada 3000, allowing it to fire all pilots and flight attendants from the former Royal Aviation.

A quasi-hearing with the CIRB was held by teleconference call today, from 10h00 to 14h00. Representatives from RAPA and our lawyers were present on the call, as were several other unions, and management representatives including Angus Kinnear. The company argued that the CIRB should issue a ruling on the application during the conference call. RAPA and other unions argued that this matter was of such importance that a formal hearing should be called. The CIRB did order an oral hearing for tomorrow, November 6th, at 13h00 in Toronto. At that time, all concerned parties will make full submissions, evidence will be submitted, and testimony will be heard.

The CIRB has agreed that the hearing tomorrow will consider whether or not it will issue a common employer declaration that includes the former Royal and covers workers from the former Royal.

RAPA and our lawyers will be present at this hearing on Tuesday, November 6th to defend your rights and oppose the company’s application. More news to follow.

Please continue to operate your flights safely and with your usual professionalism.

Neil Sharp

Dear Mr Branson Not to sure that this is the right forum but having scoured Virgin and related web sites with a view to contacting you about the dissappointing service recieved whilst trying to book a holiday through Virgini I am left with little choice. The excitement of booking the holiday has been tainted a touch by the inability of Virgin Holidays to provide a straight forward cost. Simple one would think but following several phone calls and a visit on the web we were left somewhat puzzled by 4 different quotes. I'm pleased to say that following the various quotes and with the help of the holiday hypermarket we have managed to secure the holiday of choice. Mammoth and L.A. The point.. I'm sure you welcome feedback on all aspects of your business knowing that the key to success is not only providing the ultimate service but being aware that when problems are identified rectification is the undoubtedly the most appropriate solution. May I suggest that a target of 'right first time' is given to the booking agents so as to ensure that customers are secured rather than encouraged to look elsewhere as I am sure those with less tanacity that myself would do. I hope that you find these comments useful and constructive.

I look forward to holidaying with your group for the first time and trust that that I will be encouraged to make it the first of many.

Just thought you would like to know that Illinois Governor George Ryan plans to condemn ninety-five operating farms- putting them out of business with a proposed "third" airport for Chicago (we already have five airports) by paving over 24,000 acres of land. That is thirty-six square miles of land. 17,165 are designated as prime farmland soil and 6,533 acres are important farmland soil. This airport would completely surround Raccoon Grove and Monee Reservoir forest preserves. The site also contains five streams, 1,600 acres of flood plains and 550 acres of wetlands. For more information, you can contact S.T.A.N.D (Shut This Airport Nightmare Down) at dsp1231@msn.com or stand_rural@hotmail.com

Dear Richard,

I was hesitating writing to you, because I guess you are a very busy man ! But I finally made up my mind, because you are for me the most attractive and unexpected person to be found in the CD business today.

All you are doing in the field of producing and research is wonderful, fascinating and incredibly original (and so am I, by the way).

I am just happy to present you hereunder two of my projects and, by usual surface mail, I will send you the third with a copy of my first own CD, produced by Universal, as well as my press-file. I am quite convinced this will seduce you !

PS I ask You to apologize me for so impersonal style of this postal delivery!

Sincerely Yours

Paul PABST

The name of Paul Pabst (1854 - 1897)is barely known among the music-lovers, and even ignored by some musicologists (theres is no mention of Pabst in Marc Honegger's "Dictionnaire de la Musique). His compositions, however, do not lack in interest, particularly in his predilection field, the operatic paraphrases. It is only recently and almost incidentally that I began to be concerned with this Liszt's pupil, mostly because he wrote paraphrases on Tchaikovsky's operas. And the pianistic quality of these works prompted me to think about a recording devoted to Pabst's works. Not only because I wanted to realize something really original, but also because I bear a growing interest in "musical theater". Those who know the genesis of my first recording will know that my two first stirring experiences in this field were a ballet (The Nutcracker) and an incidental music (Peer Gynt). The theatrical link which connects together ballet, incidental music and opera is obvious : music as support and mover of the dramatic action. But the choice of the works is not accidental : I think that it is necessary to establish links or relations between the work and the performer. In this case, these links take for me the shape of a cobweb where the "crossroads" are both radial and transversal. Without excessive developments, it is obvious that cultural links exist between Tchaikovsky, Rubinstein and myself, Tchaikovsky and Rubinstein were friends, Pabst was a teacher at Nikolaï Rubinstein's (Anton's brother) conservatory, and I am myself pianist and teacher. All this is thus linked by numerous points which, through the composers and performer, lead us back to the stage. What preceeds is not a definitive text, but a foreproject which has to be developed. But the musical content is clearly defined, here it is :

Eugen Onegin, concert paraphrase on Tchaikovsky's opera (dedicated to N. Rubinstein). The Sleeping Beauty, concert paraphrase on Tchaikovsky's ballet. The Queen of Spades, illustration of Tchaikovsky's opera. Berceuse (lullaby), arrangement of a romance by Tchaikovsky. Reminiscences of Anton Rubinstein's opera "The Devil" (after Lermontov).

EISENSTEIN

Alongside "Exilasylum" and "Pabst - a review", my third project would be a recording which could be used as a musical score for S. M. Eisenstein's silent movies (The strike, Battleship Potemkime, October, The general line). A musical score specifically composed to be used in these movies does not exist. The usual piano accompaniment was often left to the judgement of the pianist and depended on his or her state of mind and musical skill. The pianist played either existing scores which seemed related with the atmosphere of the movie, or improvized according to his of her temper. Relying myself on the fact that Shostakovitch himself, in his youth, used to be accompanist pianist in projection rooms, I plan to use some of the scores he wrote then and which could have been used for these movies, e.a. "Fantastic Dances" and "Twenty-four Little Preludes". This would not be, in my opinion, a misuse or a betrayal of his music, as himself wrote numerous musical scores for the cinema. On the other hand, I think that my idea is more realistic and pertinent than the composition of a musical score after the event, a good example being this of Giorgio Moroder's music for Fritz Lang's "Metropolis". Whatever are the qualities of this music, it is not and will never be absolutely suitable, having not been written at the same time as the film. Nor would this be a betrayal of Eisenstein, who ordered musical scores by composers such as Prokofiev for some of his films. Of course, this project has to mature, more especially regarding the ultimate choice of works and their suitability with the subject and the atmosphere of the films, as well temporal, intellectual or simply sentimental. I do not aim to act as a substitute of reckoned film-music composers, some of them (Bernard Herrmann, Michel Legrand, and many more) being true and very talented musicians, I just try to create or re-create what should or could have been, with all the respect due to the composer and to the film-maker.

Please can you help me with some answers to a project that I have been asked to bring forward with some serious advancement.

I am a Print and Web Designer. I have a client who has wished for some time to build and oversee the running of a Bird Park in Fiji. This project appears to be on the front a very good opportunity for investment.

My client: Is a qualified Clerk of Works with a lifelong hobby of being an aviculturalist having kept and bred many hundreds of birds of many species both here and in Australia. Being initially a Carpenter a and joiner by trade he went on to be a Clerk of Works and Licensed Builder. Finally a building surveyor. He himself is more than qualified to build and operate the Bird Park with back-up from others. He has a friend and partner who is a Zoologist, and is the General Secretary of the National Association of Private Animal Keepers since (1989) and now as Co-ordinator for the Sustainable Users Network Among other things he owns a quarantine station.

The Bird Park: The Bird Park was originally approved in 1987 the company registered on the 18.2.88, no further progress commenced. My client was living in Australia then. Circumstances have changed since then and having met his friend and partner has carried out much research. It has been decided to re-apply and this time follow through with the project.

I have the ability to produce anything from a glossy brochure to a web site, but before we can do all this - the overall question is where can we generate interest to inject investment into this project to get it off the ground? Can we advertise with you? Or can you suggest investment potential? Is there any advise you can give me in this?

At present I am putting together my clients details into a presentable format that I can then PDF and send out to interested parties.

Thank you for any help in this matter.

Hi Richard.

I have been following your carrer for a few years now and I must say that you have done a really great work out of your business.

You have a business that people only can dream about ever earning!

I Allso have a question for you?

I am thinking about starting some charter flights!

I have contacted Singapore Airlines and a number of other airlines and they are not willing to even write me back!

So thats why I would like to ask you, what I could do if I wanted to rent maybe one or two 747´s from Virgin Atlantic, both with all economy class interrior?

I have made a plan of how much I could earn in six months, but fuel prices other things keep changing all the time so my plan is not that precise!

Can you a give me an advise?

But in the case that you can help me, then I will write you back really soon to tell you how I would get my fundings, because I am not sure if the person I am going to ask is willing to help me!

By the way, Virgin Megastores in Amsterdam -Holland has stopped selling their Virgin Cola´s! My friend an I was a little sad to hear about that, since we belive that we were the top 2 persons to buy Virgin Cola´s in Amsterdam.

I hope that you will decide to contact me because I really wanna do this.

Sencerely:

Hello Mr. Branson. Congratulations on your phenomenal success in the many businesses you have undertaken. Virgin megastores are wicked.. although prices are a little high. Maybe you could try and put a little back into the industry by reducing them a little to bring them in line with Europe, like you have been doing recently with train fares (although this is mostly to reinspire consumer confidence in your rail company - the new trains should do this admirably when they finally arrive tho). Another thing is the people's lottery.. I have a lot of respect for you on this issue, hope that you fight for the licence to the hilt. Any plans for new ventures? or think you have enough diversification within Virgin? one thing I reckon you could do is provide funding for British films and the like. British Shows like Doctor Who are simply not being made because of the intital costs to production companies.. the money made on international distribution and video & cd sales etc.. cover the costs in the end though. Spread over a while though but for only a few million a whole series would be made. Instead of millions of repeats on the beeb all the time and 50 eastenders a week, lets have Who back.. you'd be a god in the eyes of the HUGE following of the show in the world. Think Star Trek it's a franchise that could just grow and grow and go through a renaissance with your support. Anyway, take care, good luck on your next balloon adventure. We should all boycott the lottery until they do what is right. Crooked Camellot should not be allowed to win - someone somewhere is getting an amazing back hander dont you think? ~More than one no doubt!
